Medical Laser Safety Officer (CMLSO Course)  (this link takes you to the Seminar Page)
Certified Medical Laser Safety Officer (CMLSO) 2 day A.N.S.I. based seminar designed for those that will be assuming responsibilities of the facilities "Laser Safety Officer" role (its also available as an Online course). Approx 16 hours.  This meets the requirements for all States that require formal Laser Safety Officer Training -- except for Arizona for Online training. Arizona will accept this course if you attend one of our actual seminars and sit in your seat, but they will not accept exactly the same course if you take it online. (talk to your state representatives).  This course is equally applicable to the laser operators and laser technicians running the equipment, whether the LSO or not. The new 2011 ANSI Standards has a requirement that ALL Staff working around Lasers have recurrent safety training at a minimum of once every 5 years, and this class will meet that requirement.
The 2 Day Seminar includes the Laser Safety Officer Certification Exam (a voluntary professional credential).
The Ohio course includes an optional 3rd morning at no additional charge for hands-on work with typical surgical laser systems.

Applicable to both Medical and Aesthetic Practices. This is a 126 slide narrated presentation on the latest ANSI Laser Safety Standards. It is NOT a copy of the standards and you'll still need to buy a set of those, but this is a "Common Sense" presentation of what the Standards actually say and gives you options in how to apply them in your practice. You can download a PDF copy of the presentation, and then use it to go over the actual ANSI Standards so that you understand them more easily.

Targeted toward the Laser Operators running the equipment for Physicians im medical facilities, but not necessarily servicing as the Administrative Laser Safety Officer. It covers all of the basics of Laser Physics, Tissue Interactions and Laser Safety. The seminar consists of lectures on these topics, and the afternoon of hands-on work and demonstrations with various types of surgical and ophthalmic laser systems. This seminar with hands-on is offered only in our Ohio classroom. The Online program consists of the same lectures, but obviously without any hands-on (which you can easily get from other members of your staff in your own hospital). Online / Home-Study Course designed for Basic Laser Inservices required of all staff working in medical laser environment. 30++ minutes, plus the post test and review. The most basic way to meet A.N.S.I. laser training documentation for staff. Online / Home-Study Course designed for Physicians seeking basic laser science and safety for credentialing purposes, and for staff working directly with and around lasers. Approx 1hr 45 mins to cover the primary laser and energy concepts, differentiate types of lasers, and present important safety concepts. This is the next step up from the Basic Surgical Laser Safety Inservice. For physicians it is intended to be augmented with more complete and specific clinical training in their specialty area, followed by hands-on laser work and preceptorship of cases, in order to gain Laser Privileges at a hospital.
This program is utlized by The Ohio State University Medical Center for initial training of Residents and Attendings seeking laser privileges.

In-House Basic Laser Training for your Staff including Hands-on - at your own facility  (this link takes you to the Seminar Page)
1 Day Course -- 1/2 day of Laser Principles & Safety, plus 1/2 day of hands-on work with your own lasers (any type) in your own facility. This is the SAME as the one day Laser Tech - Safety course described above, but given in your own facility on your own equipment. Designed for staff working with or around medical laser equipment. Can be adapted for surgical or aesthetic settings. Can also be exanded to a two day course to include Medical Laser Safety Officers, including Certification Exams on-site. We teach on any and all types of Laser systems. The new 2011 ANSI Standards has a requirement that ALL Staff working around Lasers have recurrent safety training at a minimum of once every 5 years, and this class will meet that requirement.
Price: One Day $1500 plus reasonable travel expenses for one faculty.

Once a year we provide an update on Laser Safety as a service to all of our Medical / Aesthetic / Technical Alumni at minmal cost - this year (April 2012) it's $195 for the 3 day course. Others are also welcome to attend at the regular registration fee of $895. You'll make your own room reservations with Banana Bay. Mention that you're with the laser course.The new 2012 ANSI Standards has a requirement that ALL Staff working around Lasers have recurrent safety training at a minimum of once every 5 years, and this class will meet that requirement.




 
Surgical Speciality - Basic Clinical Application Laser Lectures for Physicians (Under Development, Uro & Ophth Coming soon)
Online Training Programs. For Residents and Attending physicians in different specialty areas, these are the specific surgical specialty laser applications. They should not be considered as comrpehensive and totally complete, but a very thorough introduction to clinical laser use in your specialty. Please augment this with more specific information and training in your speciality. This is a work in progress and specialties will be added over time. These should be taken AFTER you've first taken the introductory "Physician Laser Basic Science and Safety" lectures. After you've finished these clinical lectures you should arrange for hands-on work with your own lasers, then preceptorship of actual surgical cases with an  physician who is already credentialed n your specialty. (Refer to your own Hospital requirements)
ENT, GYN, DERM, OPHTH, ORTHO, URO, GENSURG, GI, PULM, THORACIC, VASCULAR, NEURO,
Surgical Laser Physician Credentialing Hands-On Customized Surgical Laser Credentialing, or Non-Laser Surgical Wet-Lab Courses
      -  for Physicians, and taught by Physicians and support staff

Detailed Surgical/Medical training on ANY type of laser. These programs follow the guidelines for surgical laser training as suggested by the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS). It teaches laser techniques utilized for procedures in specific applications. It includes clinical discussion of pathology, alternative and laser treatment, and hands-on laboratory sessions. The only additional requirement for Credentialing that is generally recommended, but not provided by this course, is a surgical preceptorship with a laser trained physician in that specialty. Such preceptorships can be offered for additional fees.
Hands-on includes the use of various inanimate materials or animal parts, or human cadaver specimens depending on the specifics of the customized course.
Courses are also available for various surgical technologies including ESU, all endoscopies and colposcopy - with or without laser use.
Wet-Lab Training Support is additionally provided to medical manufacturers and dealers in support of their training or sales demonstrations.
