What is Skype?

Skype is a FREE service that allows you to talk via your computer to any other Skype user anywhere in the world. All at no charge. You can also use live video with a skype call at your option. It is possible to conference call 4 to 5 Skype callers at the same time. You just need your computer speakers and a microphone. Dedicated headsets with microphones are better but not necessary.

You can download the free software at www.Skype.com , follow the directions to install it, and then register to enter yourself into the system and select your Skype name which is how other callers will identify you.

To call us at Professional Medical Education Association, use the Skype name of "LaserTraining". We are located in the eastern time zone of the United States.  It is -4 hours from GMT (UTZ) in the summer, and -5 hours GMT in the winter (Northern Hemisphere). Our regular hours are roughly from 9:30am to 4pm, but they vary depending on whether we are training in the center.

To call us via Skype from countries around the world, it is best to schedule a time in advance via email to info@lasertraining.org to ensure that someone will be available, and that they are the right person to speak to for your questions. Our language is English. Very rudimentary Spanish is also available if you schedule in advance. Scheduling is not necessary though and we'll take calls via Skype anytime someone is at the computer desk and a call comes in. There will be no message or voice mail if someone is not present but when we return we will see a message that someone tried to call us.
