A MUST FOR SURGICAL
DEPARTMENTS & RESIDENCY DIRECTORS! This manual has
been used extensively in Laparoscopy related
training programs because of the electrically complex nature of
electrosurgical laparoscopy, but the principles it teaches apply to
Electrosurgical use in any application. Did you know that the most effective
way to get deep hemostasis is to actually use the "Cut" mode on ESU units?
-- or that the use of high power "Coag" modes, especially when activating
the electrode before touching tissue, will cause unseen burns outside of the
immediate surgical field? This simply written manual brings the
pertinent electrical concepts down to the basics and provides a framework
for safer and more effective use of electrosurgical instrumentation.
The advantage of
the E-Book format is that you get full color
pictures in most of the illustrations and any weblinks are active if you are
online. When you open the bookmarks
tab in the navigation pane you'll be able to quickly click to go to each
section of interest. The links for video clips are highlighted in yellow
throughout the manual. The CD also has active links to ESU resources and
suppliers. It is a read-only version of the manual, but the
tests may be printed out for the Nursing Credits. After completing the
tests, mail or fax them back to us at 305-946-0232 for grading and to
receive your certificate and up to 3.0 Nursing Contact Hours each of credit
for two people. Physicians may submit their own application for approval of Catergory II CME's. You
can use this CD-ROM to pass to your entire staff for training and additional
credits and certificates for each individual for an additional fee - details are included in
the manual. A Certificate of Electrosurgical Training is provided when the tests
have been successfully completed and returned.
