CONTENT DESCRIPTION:    Nurses, Physicians, Aestheticians, Electrologists, Cosmetologists, and informed Public!
This Home Study program is a great introduction to the field of Laser & IPL Hair Removal before you commit the time and tuition (approximately $2995) to full hands-on training and credentialing programs. This program answers all your questions by giving you all the required basic science, biology, safety, and procedural techniques for laser hair removal.  If you are a potential candidate for Laser Hair Removal from the general public, you can learn all about it here in order to select the best provider of these services, and be knowledgeable about possible complications, poor results and the right laser for your skin/hair type.

This interactive E-Book on CD-ROM is designed to lay out all the knowledge required to enter this field and perform laser hair removal. It will include general state by state licensing and regulatory requirements and tell you how to find the details of regulations in your state. It includes laser biophysics and safety, an introduction to the types and differences in lasers, and basic laser hair removal techniques and theory. Clinical video clips and the course manual will illustrate the procedures. This program is specifically oriented toward nurses, technicians, aestheticians and physicians with no background in this area. Physicians may use the certificate from this program as evidence of Laser Biophysics and Safety training, which is a prerequisite of most hospital laser credentialing requirements. The Lay public can find this program useful to learn about hair removal techniques, and more intelligently select a hair removal clinic. The program is accredited for 16.1 contact hours for nurses. Aestheticians and Electrologists may use the Certification of Training as evidence of required Laser Safety Training when seeking employment in a medical office that offers these procedures, or in their own business in States that allow for use of the lasers by non-medical personnel. (requirements vary widely from State to State and among employers, so you must check with your own State and Employer). Those already engaged in Laser Hair Removal procedures may use the certificate as evidence of Laser Safety Training that many insurance companies require.

 - An explanation to Aestheticians & Beauticians seeking Laser Training for Hair removal,  & about licensing-

How it Works in a Nutshell: Laser or IPL light is used to burn the hair follicle so that it completely stops, or at least retards its continued growth. You don’t have to do this hair by hair either. The laser handpiece can cover an area as large as 2cm x 2cm and one laser pulse can take out all the hair follicles in that beam without hurting the skin. How? - that’s the art of laser hair removal. There must be enough energy applied so that the hair follicle burns while keeping it low enough that skin will not blister. This changes from patient to patient because of skin color, hair color, type of laser used, and patient sensitivity to light. That’s what this course is all about - teaching the relationships among these various factors. Laser Hair removal is not that difficult. However, in the hands of an unknowledgeable operator, injuries can result. Additional hands-on clinical training is recommended.
